Full-Time Custom Applicator Agriculture
Performs all duties of a delivery driver and is trained and skilled in the operation of liquid and dry custom application equipment. Responsible for safe and accurate application of liquid and dry fertilizers and chemicals. Responsible for equipment maintenance, safety inspections, equipment records and documentation and general upkeep and repairs.
Prior experience in comparable application equipment and the ability to demonstrate proficiency in operating such equipment. Or, successful completion of the company’s applicator operator program.
Liquid applicators must have, and maintain, a current “Certified Operator’s” license issued by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Industry.
Must have a valid Colorado CDL, Class B, with tanker, airbrake and hazmat endorsements.
Must have a Colorado commercial applicator’s license with categories 101,102 and 103.
Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret pesticide labels, maps and field-mix tickets.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess basic math, computer and mechanical skills.
Must have an ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.
Must have an ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must possess an ability to read and interpret documents such as chemical and product labels and technical data, safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Many of the items will be oversized and awkward for a single individual and require collaborative lifting.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time. This may include long periods of driving over rough and uneven surfaces in field-like conditions.
Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights above the ground. This may include working on uneven and transitional surfaces using harnesses and safety gear.
Ability to climb on, under and around equipment and facilities of varying height, sizes and shapes.
Ability to work under extreme weather and atmospheric conditions including extreme cold, extreme heat and wet weather for extended periods of time.
